First impression: Melbourne, Australia

Arriving at the Melbourne airport, I was able to notice the different temperature in comparison to Hong Kong. It was cold, but sunny. The airport was smaller than i expected, but the polluted air that i was used to breathing has been replaced by the fresh air in Melbourne. The immigration were very strict in comparison, especially with food products.

Sitting in the car and looking out of the window, i was quickly able to see the dry weather they have through the brown lifeless grass and on some of the leafless trees. The houses were beautiful and much more architecturally built in comparison to the houses in Hong Kong. Each house had different interesting designs as well as beautiful gardens.

Though this, transportation seem complicated and i wasn't able to see a bus on my way to the host family. This surprised me as buses and trains are almost everywhere in Hong Kong.

My first impressions of Australians were through talking to my host family. They care a lot about water because of the drought and their also much more environmentally friendly. Meals were completely different where soup and bread would be dinner and sandwiches and fruit were for lunch.

Internet and mobile plans are also a lot more very expensive in comparison

So far, i have enjoyed my stay in Melbourne but i look forward to seeing more and learning more about their different lifestyles.
